PrEP Care

PrEP is for everyone!

PrEP Care works to assist both insured and uninsured patients in accessing PrEP. We can help by enrolling you in assistance programs that may cover 100% of your out-of-pocket expenses for PrEP. PrEP Care can even help uninsured patients access Affordable Care Act plans to cover PrEP. To learn more about the Affordable Care Act and to see if you are eligible, click the button below:

Partnerships in the community.

PrEP Care along with Community Based Organization (CBO) partnerships, ensures that your PrEP prescription gives back to your community and may help others access PrEP at no cost. Many organizations receive grants to cover the cost of PrEP for uninsured and undocumented patients. PrEP Care collaborates with these organizations to expand PrEP access for everyone.

PrEP Care

For many years, Gilead’s Advancing Access plan funded community-based organizations, enabling them to provide patients with free PrEP medications, visits, and labs. In January 2022, the plan changed to offer free medication exclusively through Gilead’s partner pharmacy, eliminating support for PrEP visits and labs. To maintain comprehensive access to PrEP, including necessary visits and labs, most patients needed insurance by January 2022. Fortunately, there are affordable or no-cost insurance options available that cover PrEP. Learn more about the Affordable Care Act and how it can assist you in accessing PrEP.

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) offers government-subsidized health insurance, and recent changes have made it possible for many people to qualify for plans with no out-of-pocket premiums. Others may receive significant premium assistance, often reducing their costs to zero. With ACA insurance, patients can access PrEP provider visits, labs, and medications without any cost. This insurance also covers other medical services within the plan, such as primary care visits.
